What is on your checklist of life for 2012? What are your hopes and dreams? And what great lengths will you go to this year for the people that share your life? 

We always run the longest mile and go to the greatest lengths to ensure [they] smile.  What could possibly warm the heart more than sharing in another’s joy?

I recently had the pleasure of sharing the joy and celebrating the one-year anniversary of a hair and make up studio quietly tucked away in Rittenhouse Square at 2042 Sansom Street in Philadelphia. 

As in life, “Don’t Blink,” you may walk by this tiny street and fail to experience the incredible amount of talent inside Dina Alon Hair and Make Up Studio. 

Unlike the classic 1961 Hollywood movie, Back Street (starring the incomparable Susan Hayward), all of my Colour Palettes from Catwalk to Sidewalk reside visibly on Front Street where they will always receive the credit and praise they deserve.  And Dina Alon is certainly one of these women. 

Dina Alon is the beautiful owner and visionary of Dina Alon Hair and Make Up Studio where the littlest treasure created the biggest surprise.
 
Dina and I sat down and chatted for a while. It was so exciting to learn of Dina’s accomplishments over her 22 years in the business and listen about the dream to own her own salon. It took lots of time, money and sacrifice but now Dina owns her salon and wants to “make every woman look and feel beautiful and be happy.” 

What impressed me more than anything was how modestly Dina told me and how humble she remained through our interview. I had no idea that I was interviewing a celebrity hair and make up artist to Carol Alt, Nicolette Sheridan and Christina Pirello (“Christina Cooks”), just to name a few, and freelance hair and make up artist for on-air talent at QVC.

I may not have known Dina before I walked into this charming salon (where a picture with the words “follow your dreams” sits on the mantle) on its one year anniversary, but I was very familiar with the talent, particularly that of the beautiful Tiffany Schaffer. 

Tiffany is an extremely talented stylist who is certified in Great Lengths® (100% natural human hair) Hair Extensions. Lucky me! As if I am not over-extended enough…..this is one aspect of my life when I welcome going to great lengths.
